WAMFEST 2012 kicks off Tuesday the 3rd at 2pm with world-renowned dancer, director and choreographer Mark Morris (pictured) in conversation with Artist in Residence/FDU visiting professor Wesley Stace. The festival continues Wednesday the 4th with the incredibly talented poet Tom Sleigh and one of the most influential indie rock musicians and author of Rat Girl, Kristin Hersh, in a performance and conversation with Stace, followed by a reading with contest winners Barbara Froman and P.K. Harmon from Serving House Books on Thursday the 5th. Many other amazing authors and musicians (like Talib Kweli, David Henderson and South African Poet Laureate Keorapetse Kgositsile) will be joining us later in the month for three more outstanding events. View the full schedule here and read about our performers here.
All events are free and will be hosted in Hartman Lounge, located in Hennessy Hall/The Mansion (campus map here). Non-students are strongly encouraged to make reservations by emailing email@example.com.
WAMFEST would not be possible without the extraordinary generosity of Bob and Patricia Pures. For more information about our sponsors, please click here.
